Deputy Attorney General


Brandi Monger

Brandi was born and raised in Glenrock, Wyoming. She attended Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, graduating with honors with a double-major in Business/Economics and Politics. She then returned to Wyoming, where she attended the University of Wyoming College of Law, graduating with honors and Order of the Coif in 2003. During law school she published a case note and served as the Articles Editor for the Wyoming Law Review. After graduation, Brandi served as a law clerk for the Honorable Clarence A. Brimmer, Federal District Court Judge, before going into private practice with Hickey and Evans, LLP. In 2007, she joined the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office in the Civil Division representing the Office of State Lands and Investments along with other clients. Brandi left the Attorney General’s Office to serve as in-house counsel for the Wyoming Retirement System. In 2010, she went to work for the Honorable Nancy D. Freudenthal, Federal District Court Judge. In 2019, Brandi returned to the Attorney General’s Office as Deputy Attorney General of the Civil Division, where she oversees the attorneys and staff advising numerous state agencies, licensing boards, state-wide elected officials, and providing formal legal opinions to agency heads, legislators, and county and district attorneys.


Supervising Attorneys General


Karl Anderson

Karl was born and grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he attended East High School. He graduated from the University of Utah in 1990 with a B.S. in Finance. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Laramie, Wyoming, where he attended the University of Wyoming College of Law. After graduating with a JD in 1994, he practiced civil law as an associate at Dray, Madison and Thomson in Cheyenne, Wyoming. In 1999, he joined the Wyoming Attorney General's Office. Karl represented the Department of Revenue and Audit in numerous state taxation appeals before the State Board of Equalization, various District Courts, and the Wyoming Supreme Court.  In July, 2015, Karl was promoted to the supervising attorney for the Tax Division. 


Tyler Renner

Tyler, a Cheyenne native, earned a B.S. in Kinesiology and a B.A. in Spanish from the University of Wyoming in 2012, followed by his J.D. with honors from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 2015.  During law school, he served on the Wyoming Law Review Editorial Board, and also participated in mock trial and client counseling competitions.  Tyler worked for a transactional firm in Steamboat Springs, Colorado prior to joining the Attorney General’s office in late 2016.  He is licensed to practice in Colorado and Wyoming.


Mackenzie Williams

Mackenzie has been a Wyoming resident since age 15. After earning a B.S. degree in psychology, Mackenzie worked as the Community Outreach Coordinator at Albany County SAFE Project in Laramie, assisting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and elder abuse while conducting outreach and community education efforts in those areas. He left that position to attend law school and graduated with honors and Order of the Coif from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 2007. During law school, he published a case note for the Wyoming Law Review, served as the case note editor for that publication, a legal writing teaching assistant, and worked two semesters in the prosecution assistance clinic after a summer internship with the Criminal Division of this office. 


After graduating, Mackenzie served as staff attorney for the Honorable E. James Burke of the Wyoming Supreme Court for two years and followed that by serving one year each as a law clerk for the Honorable Alan B. Johnson and Honorable Nancy D. Freudenthal of the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming. Mackenzie joined the Attorney General's Office in 2011. During that time, he has primarily represented the Department of Education, State Board of Education, Professional Teaching Standards Board as well as special projects as needed, though his practice has expanded considerably since becoming a supervisor in the Civil Division. Mackenzie volunteers as an attorney coach for the East High School mock trial team and was a founding board member of Legal Aid of Wyoming. Mackenzie also serves on the Wyoming Supreme Court's Access to Justice Commission. He currently also serves as the Chair-Elect of the National Council of State Education Attorneys.

Jodi Darrough

Jodi was born and raised in Lander, Wyoming. She graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1991 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. In 1997 she graduated from the University of Wyoming College of Law and then practiced law for Wyoming Legal Services for ten years. For the next fifteen years she worked as a Civil Deputy and as the Chief Civil Deputy Fremont County Attorney. She served as president of the Fremont County Bar Association and the Wind River Bar Association, as well as an officer in the Governmental Law Section of the Wyoming State Bar.  Jodi joined the Contracts Unit of the Civil Division of the Attorney General’s Office in 2023.



Alysia Goldman

Alysia earned her bachelor’s degree from Saint Michael’s College in Political Science in 2011. At Saint Michael’s, Alysia was a member of the College’s Women’s Ice Hockey Team. After working in Casper for several years, she returned to school and continued her education at the University of Wyoming College of Law. During law school, she worked on the Wyoming Law Review Editorial Board. She graduated with honors from the College of Law in 2017 and is licensed to practice in Wyoming. 


Devin Kenney

Devin was born and raised in Northern Utah. Before college, Devin served a two-year church mission in Argentina. He received his B.A. in Political Science and Latin American Studies from “the U” and then his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law in 2015, graduating in the top four percent of his law school class and being published four times. Between his second and third year of law school, Devin interned in the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office.  Since law school, Devin clerked for a Utah Court of Appeals judge and worked for a year in Washington, D.C. for the Environment and Natural Resources Section of the U.S. Department of Justice. Finding D.C. to be too much city, Devin made the decision to return to Cheyenne with his family. In his spare time, Devin spends time with his wife and three beautiful children. He also reads, a lot. He is a member of the Utah and Wyoming Bars.


Jim Peters

Jim was born and raised in Minnesota. He received his B.S. in political science from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2012 and his J.D., with honors, from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 2016. While at the University of Wyoming, Jim served on the Wyoming Law Review Editorial Board. He joined the Civil Division of the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office in 2016 and currently represents the Office of State Lands and Investments, the Department of Revenue, the Military Department, and a number of professional licensing boards.  


Megan Pope

Megan graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor’s in journalism. She obtained her J.D. from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, followed by her LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Denver, Strum College of Law Graduate Tax Program. She began her career at the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office, representing the Department of Revenue and Wyoming Retirement System. Currently, Megan represents the Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources and the Office of State Lands and Investments. She is a member of the Texas, Colorado, and Wyoming Bars.

Assistant Attorneys General


Madi Barber

Madi grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the University of Wyoming and minors in Public Law and Human Resource Management. Madi continued her education at the University of Wyoming College of Law, culminating in her graduation in 2023. During her time in law school, Madi served a one-year term as a staff member for Wyoming Law Review as a Symposium Director for the celebration of the 150th Anniversary of Yellowstone National Park. She also participated in negotiation competitions at the local and regional level. Additionally, Madi worked in the Civil Legal Services Clinic and had the privilege of two invaluable externships while attending the College of Law: one with the Honorable Kelly Rankin, Chief Magistrate for the District of Wyoming. The other was with the Ruckelshaus Institute at the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources, where she worked with the Collaborative Solutions Program to address complex environmental and natural resource challenges. Beginning in October of 2023, Madi joined the Wyoming Attorney General's Office and is duly licensed to practice law in the great State of Wyoming. 



Catherine L. Reeves

Catherine L. Reeves was born and raised in Casper, Wyoming. She received a B.A. in English Education from the University of Wyoming and taught secondary English in Laramie County School District #2. She received an M.A in English, with a concentration in American Poetry and Gender Studies, from the University of Wyoming in 2012. After which, she served as the Language Arts Consultant for the Wyoming Department of Education. She then attended the University of Wyoming College of Law, where she worked as a research assistant and participated in the Human Rights Clinic. Catherine joined the Attorney General’s Office Civil Division in August, 2021. She primarily represents the Department of Education, the State School Board of Education, and the Professional Teaching Standards Board.
