Civil Division
The Civil Division represents the State and most of its officials and agencies in civil litigation, administrative proceedings and general advisory matters day-to-day. The Division represents four state-wide elected officials, several dozen agencies, and is primarily responsible for providing formal legal opinions to legislators, county and district attorneys, and agency heads. The Civil Division is also heavily involved in tracking legislation and handles specialized or novel litigation as assigned. The Division's client agencies include, among others, the Departments of Revenue, Audit, Parks and Cultural Resources, Administration and Information, State Lands and Investments, Military, the Public Service Commission, the State Building Commission and the Wyoming Business Council, along with many occupational licensing boards. The Civil Division represents the Offices of the Governor, Treasurer, Auditor, and Secretary of State.
